To provide support to eVTR users, GARFO is presenting this series of instructional webinars. The first two webinars will provide a general overview of eVTR reporting requirements and available platforms. They will also include demonstrations of GARFO’s Fish Online (FOL) applications for Apple iOS and Fish Online Web App. Future webinars will include demonstrations of ACCSP’s eTrips/mobile v2 and eTrips online. Vessels that possess GARFO commercial permits as well as either Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) or Highly Migratory Species Management Division (HMS) commercial permits may have multiple reporting requirements for a single trip. GARFO is working with it’s partners at SEFSC, HMS, and the Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program (ACCSP) to develop One Stop Reporting (OSR) capabilities that will enable the submission of a single electronic report to satisfy reporting requirements of multiple permits. We anticipate ACCSP’s eTrips eVTR application will soon support commercial OSR so that the submission of a single electronic report will fulfill multiple commercial reporting requirements. Reporting requirements do not apply to vessels holding only a permit for American lobster. Vessels issued a for-hire permit for Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council species or a private recreational vessel tilefish permit already submit vessel trip reports electronically. Vessels issued for-hire permits for New England Fishery Management Council-managed fisheries (i.e., Northeast multispecies) will also be required to use eVTR and report within 48 hours of the end of a trip.
